Discover the bonding power of community singing simple, yet powerful songs together that love us through this human experience. Several songs featured are from Colleen's "Songs for the R'evolutionist" collection for courage, joy, and resilience through these times (also available on this website), along with favorites from other beloved song leaders. Most songs feature multiple parts and harmonies that weave together. We may do a little vocal improv as well... these three weeks are to experiment & see what people here want and like! Sometimes I'll have a special guest artist!

Whether you consider yourself a singer or not, this is a safe place to explore, play, harmonize, build relationships with songs and each other as we get even more confident in our voices! The greatest benefits? A nervous system reset through our sound and the connection we feel with community singing together.

We begin with vocalizing to shift our energy into presence and end the evening with a short sound bath so please bring a yoga mat, blanket, or comfy chair if you don't enjoy sitting on the ground ( + non toxic bug repellent and lots of **water!). If you play an instrument or percussion, there may be moments when that is also welcome!

Colleen is a Song R’Evolutionist, music educator (ASU BMusic Ed), sound & breathwork facilitator, violinist, vocal alchemist & songwriter relocating here from Sedona, AZ and seeing if this community wants more music improv, singing circles, jams and opportunities for music creation! This event repeats every week until August 1st which will feature an incredible guest artist!

Colleen taught music for all different ages 20+ years and has led creative, playful song and voice empowerment circles at Song Village, Singing Alive, La Cantando La Vida, Heart Song, Singing the Soul Alive, Singing in Love and other places in the US / South America. 25 spot limitation this week since I don't have permits yet from the city, so tickets online recommended.
Next two dates only $15 ONLINE right now until Saturday (or choose a greater level of support) then $20 - $30 sliding scale in person. August 1st will be a special event with an amazing guest artist and extra long sound portion - exchange is $30 for that one and location may change for that one. Online tickets ahead for that recommended.

This event features a full sound bath at the end with special guest Jaden Chavez who will add many instruments, an original song or two and his magical weavings with cello, guitar, clarinet and other instruments. I will also be bringing violin and a full sound collection for a full sound bath including Gong, Sound Bowls, Native American Flute etc... We will do one hour of vocalizing and song followed by one hour of deep sound journeying. as I collaborate with a good friend and amazing musician, Jaden Chavez who will weave his cello and other instruments in (myself on violin, voice, and other instruments). The exchange for this one will be $30 to support both artists and support Jaden as he travels and continues to share his gifts.

Priority Seat

 —  —

Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Colleen created the music, lyrics and story for Priority Seat, the musical which will be playing for two weeks in early January during their Lunch Time Theatre program.

Featuring a multi-talented cast, Priority Seat is a new musical comedy where two unlikely stand-by passengers team up to attempt the impossible… arrive to their destination on time.

Colleen Porter offers a shortened version of what will become a full-length musical; one that explores familiar airport antics while finding parallels to the deeper questions of life. Who decides our priority status anyhow?
